Review: Batman and Robin 12

The end of the Terminus arc isn’t the pull for me here.  To be honest, none of the Terminus stuff was.  The real story in my eyes over these last few issues has been the War of the Robins, which by chance seems to end in this issue as well.

Spoiler warning.

Much of this issue is a giant fight with Terminus’ goons.  The end of his master plan to end Batman’s world as his own comes to an end.  Its a pretty good fight, too.  Entertaining in its own right seeing Batman and Robin working together, not to mention a new Batmobile feature to spit out a Batsuit upgrade.  To aid Robin in taking out Terminus’ goons though comes all the former Robins.

Tomasi handles this encounter nicely with good banter between them.  Its fun to see.  My favorite part of this issue though is the end where it (at least hopefully) finishes up Damian’s war against the previous Robins.  With Grayson having shown up, well it was the perfect time to do it, and Tomasi handles this wonderfully.  How he has Dick take the lead in the confrontation and end it in an instant not only feels how Dick would deal with it, but also reminded me of Dick’s time under the cowl and how he reacted to Damian then.  But then, why shouldn’t it considering Tomasi wrote for volume 1 of Batman and Robin.

About xxadverbxx

I'm a fan of comics. Mainly DC and more specifically the Bat family. Grayson would be my favorite character, though I'm very sad to see Stephanie leaving her role as Batgirl, and generally upset at Didio - the man I deem responsible for all that I dislike in DC comics.
