The Walking Dead: 18 Miles Out
February 27, 2012What’s New in the DCU – 09/14
September 13, 2011It’s Tuesday. The day before new books hit the shelves. Let’s look at what’s in store for the new DCU:

Batman and Robin #1 - Same book, same creative team. You would never guess this book was involved in a line-wide relaunch. Tomasi is an okay writer and I have always been a fan of Patrick Gleason. That cover is one of my favorite Batman covers of the month.
Level of anticipation – 6 out of 10

Admit it. You say Dan DiDio’s name on this book and just assumed it was going to suck. Well, don’t you feel stupid now?
Review: Justice League International #1

Justice League: Generation Lost was a pleasant surprise. So much so, I was disappointed to hear that Judd Winick would not be continuing to write the teams adventures in the new DCU. But as it turns out, lightning has struck twice. Based on the first issue, Dan Jurgens’ Justice League International is an equally pleasant surprise.
Review: Animal Man #1

When the DC Relaunch was announced, I didn’t get truly excited about it until I saw the “dark” books. Most of the early announcements were fairly similar to books DC was already publishing. But these off-beat titles showed promise. And Animal Man #1 delivers on that promise.
Review: Action Comics #1

DC screwed up its relaunch already. This book should have been readers’ introduction to the DCnU, not last week’s Justice League. While Justice League #1 was an entertaining team-up between Batman and Green Lantern, it left a lot of readers wanting in the action department. But Action Comics #1 delivers all that and more.
Final Thoughts on the DC Relaunch
August 30, 2011
It’s finally here… almost. Just one more day until Flashpoint #5 brings the current DCU to an end and Justice League #1 launches the new DC Universe. Before that happens, I thought I’d share a few thoughts about what is sure to be a landmark event.
